When you are asked if in Italy there are musicians that are able to play the blues just as good as the American musicians the answer is here in the new album of the Riccardo Blues Band titled “ ”, released on the 15th December 2021.Riccardo Grosso, a blues harmonica player and singer that has dedicated his life to music and blues from a young age took to leap over to the mother land of blues and absorbed the magic sounds of New Orleans. In this album you can hear the results for the extroardinary harmonica playing and the vocals.In these tracks Riccardo and the band have been able to make the songs of Otis Rush, Chuck Berry, Charlie Musselwhite, Jerry Mc Cain, Willie Dixon, James Moore, Sonny Boy Williamson and Tom Waits their own with their own personal touch and there is no doubt that they should be proud of Riccardo’s interpretation.The musicians that took part in this album are Riccardo Grosso on the harmonica, vocals and percussion on the track “Fattening Frogs for Snakes”, Flavio Paludetti on the guitar and bass on the track “Til The Money Runs Out”, Cocco Marinoni on the bass and Federico Patarnello on the drums for all the live session recordings and Cristian Cecchetto on the drums for the last track of the ablum “Til The Money Runs Out”. This album is a great mix starting with the six live session tracks full of groove and you immagine having the band infront of you during a gig. Then the album closes with two pearls, “Fattening Frogs for Snakes” and “Til The Money Runs Out” a delicate touch where Riccardo Grosso has given a intimate touch. A great disk to have and enjoy.
