LUCA GIORDANO
Chitarrista, band leader, cantante, e compositore, Luca Giordano è considerato uno dei più grandi talenti sulla scena Blues europea, esibendosi sia con la propria band, sia accompagnando alcuni dei più grandi artisti di livello internazionale.
Nato in Italia nel 1980, Luca si trasferisce a Chicago alla giovane età di 25 anni collezionando numerose esperienze al fianco di affermati performer dell’area dell Illinois come Sharon Lewis, Willie “Big Eye” Smith, Les Getrex, JW Williams, James Wheeler & the Rosa’s Lounge All-Stars (inclusa la loro esibizione al prestigioso Chicago Blues Festival nel 2008), e collaborando frequentemente con Eric “Guitar” Davis e la sua band the Troublemakers per diversi tour in Illinois, Ohio, Missouri, Wisconsin, ed al Chicago Blues Festival 2011 e Virginia Beach Blues Fest (with Willie Big Eyes Smith, former Muddy Waters drummer)
Al suo rientro in Europa Luca pubblica due album da solista (My Kind Of Blues con ospiti Chris Cain, Bob Stroger, and Sax Gordon per Audacia Records & Off The Grid per GG Records) e collabora con il cantante/armonicista/show-man spagnolo Quique Gomez per GG Records Dead Mama Blues e Chicago 3011 Sessions (registrato a Chicago nel 2011) con ospiti leggende del Blues americano come Bob Stroger, Billy Branch, Jimmy Burns, and Eddie C. Campbell.
Negli anni seguenti la Luca Giordano Band ha guadagnato reputazione come una delle migliori band europee scelte dagli artisti americani per i propri tour internazionali. Diversi tour di successo e l’aumento di popolarità hanno attestato la qualità del loro lavoro con rispettati artisti come Sugaray Rayford, John Primer, Bob Stroger, Nora Jean Bruso, Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne, Willie “Big Eye” Smith, Jimmy Burns, Toni Lynn Washington, Chris Cain, Carlos Johnson, Billy Branch, Eric “Guitar” Davis, and Sax Gordon, per nominarne alcuni.
Accompagnando questi grandi artisti o esibendosi da solista con la propria band, Luca ha portato il suo sound unico, ed allo stesso tempo energico e raffinato, in club e festival in Italia, Svizzera, Germania, Francia, Belgio, Lussemburgo, Olanda, Spagna, Portogallo, Austria, Ungheria, Romania, Repubblica Ceca, Lituania, e di recente, ha collezionato diversi fan nelle sue performance in Brasile, Cile, Argentina, Patagonia, Russia e Georgia.
Negli ultimi anni Luca è inoltre diventato parte integrante della Band del profeta del Blues Mighty Mo Rodgers, con il quale ha registrato il disco Griot Blues (2017 - One Root Music), progetto in collaborazione con il musicista griot africano Baba Sissoko, mentre, nel frattempo, continua ad esibirsi a livello mondiale con la propria band ed accompagnando i migliori performers della scena blues attuale.
A Febbraio 2021 uscirà il suo ultimo nuovo lavoro "Let's Talk About It" (terzo disco come solista) prodotto in Italia da Fabio Colella (Sasha Studios) per l'etichetta Brasiliana BlueCrawFish Records.
NEW ALBUM "LET'S TALK ABOUT IT" BY LUCA GIORDANO
A collection of personal stories and feelings, the album was produced and mixed by Fabio Colella at SASHA STUDIOS (Trasacco Italy) and includes 11 songs; 8 originals by Luca Giordano as well as songs written by Mighty Mo Rodgers, Eric “Guitar” Davis and Sean Costello.
The core of the band on the CD is formed by Luca Giordano on guitar and vocals, virtuoso Hammond organ and piano player Abramo Riti, Walter Cerasani on bass, and drummer/producer Fabio Colella, and there are guest appearances from the legendary Mighty Mo Rodgers (the Blues Prophet who once produced Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee), and the explosive tenor sax player Sax Gordon who wrote horn arrangements for 4 of the songs.
Other special guests from Italy also made great contributions to the recording including trumpet player Alessandro Di Bonaventura, bass players Walter Monini and Nicola Di Camillo, drummer Eric Cisbani, Chiara Giordano on background vocals and Francesco Cerasoli is featured with a guitar solo on “Cold Winter.”
Luca Giordano’s 3rd album “Let’s Talk About It” will be released by the Brazilian label BLUE CRAWFISH RECORDS on February 8, 2021.
