“Still Gettin’ Down” by the Model T Boogie

The new album titled “Still Gettin’ Down” by the Model T Boogie, is a real demostration of the amazing blues bands based in Italy. 11 Tracks and honestly speaking I’ve already consumed it by listening to it over and over again. Where to start? First of all the first thing that comes to mind is the extrordindary harp played by Giancarlo Crea, it’s powerful, clear and perfectly inserted into each track, not too much and not too little. Of course there is the fantastic guitar playing of Nick Becattini and Dario Lombardo.

 

An album full of groove, that is impossible to not tap your feet while listening to and one thing that did also stand out for me, is the perfect pronunciation in all the vocal parts. A real great job done!

The musicians of the band are Giancarlo Crea on the harmonica and vocals, Dario Lombardi on the guitar and vocals, Nick Becattini on the guitar and vocals, Alice Costa on the bass, Massimo Teeno Bertagna on the drums. Special guests that featured in the album Andrea Rooster Scagliarini on the harmonica and Keki Andrei on the Hammond Organ, kawai grand piano and Fender rhodes.

Peronsally speaking, I really enjoy listening to this excellent album and suggest that everyone checks it out and gets a taste of the excellent blues that you find in Italy.
